Every year, Max's Taphouse hosts a trike race between breweries from all around Maryland in winner take all battle for beer pride. In 2016, we were disqualified from the annual trike race during Baltimore Beer Week due to our "illegitimate" trike, the beloved Green Machine. UNION Craft Brewingrelished this moment and decorated a tree in Broadway Square with our trike.
From that moment, DQ'd was born. Last August of 2017, we brewed this beer in collaboration with Casey Hard and the Max's team adding blueberries and raspberries to the beer. After much pressure from our fans, we decided to bring this beer back, this time changing up the fruit addition slightly.
WHATS GOING DOWN?
DQ'd is brewed with a hefty load of wheat & oats, and hopped heavily in the whirlpool and as a dry-hop. This beer is soft, smooth, creamy, juicy, and immensely aromatic. Like it's predecessor this beer will feature a fruit addition, but this time we are adding apricots and peaches. We expect this combination to create a new melange of complex aromatics to complement the beer.
We will be doing a limited drop in our taproom in 16oz four-packs format. Draft will also be available in the Taproom! No crowler or growler fills of this beer.
WHY ARE WE BRINGING DQ'd BACK?
Because you said so and we are excited to experiment with this combination of stone fruits in a full-bodied beer.
